SugarMax All Purpose

In this medium to long term dual purpose mixture, increased sugar levels lead to greater palatability and faster, more efficient conversion of digested food into either milk or meat. Higher sugar levels also allow for increased fermentation in silage, enhancing
the quality of the conserved material.

TetraMax Tetra Ley

A medium term all Tetraploid Perennial Ryegrass mixture. This blend of intermediate and late Ryegrass is designed for conservation but is also capable of providing forage of the highest quality for grazing. All the varieties selected exhibit good winter hardiness, disease resistance and persistence to ensure longevity and consistency from the sward. The higher sugar content of Tetraploid varieties ensures excellent fermentation when making silage, and when grazed improves animal intake. Resistance to Crown Rust has been a major consideration in the composition of this mixture.

MeadowMax

An old fashioned style mixture based around the use of non aggressive grass species like Meadow Fescue, Timothy and Meadow Grasses. These species formed the basis of very early re-seeding mixtures of pasture land in the early 1900’s, long before intensive farming was the norm. With the advent of farming policy reviews over the last few years, there has been a resurgence of interest in the more extensive ways of producing meat. The following mixture was designed to fill the gap between the more progressive dairy farmer and the land manager who is looking towards lower input and a more environmental approach to farming. The following mixture will make very good hay useful for a winter feed for many types of animal.

• Can be grazed, made into hay or haylage
• Will tolerate very wet conditions and with the addition of Tall Fescue and Smooth Stalked Meadow Grass, will withstand the worst affects of summer heat and drought
• Wild flowers may be added to the above provided they are not toxic to grazing animals

DroughtMax Cutting

This mixture is based on new development work carried out by DLF Trifolium on the use of Festulolium cultivars. This work has revealed that in conservation situations Festuloliums, Hybrid Ryegrass and Red Clover are ideal companions, which will produce forage high in protein and energy.

• Hykor is a Tall Fescue/Italian Ryegrass cross with high D values, crude protein and energy levels
• The Hybrid Ryegrass cultivars are chosen for yield and conservation quality
• Perun is a Meadow Fescue/Italian Ryegrass cross high in sugar and protein
• Amos Red Clover is high yielding, low in oestrogen and high in protein
