Vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant


 A vacancy has arisen within the Finance team, for an Assistant Management Accountant, reporting to the Director of Finance. The role is to support the Director of Finance in all aspects of financial reporting and business systems management. The post-holder will play a key part in further developing business information and management reporting, and provide both financial & operating analyses. The role also involves participation in group projects, with a particular focus on IT and finance projects.

Duties will include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts reports & supporting production of the annual financial statements Providing analysis of financial and operational performance
  • Supporting the Director of Finance in budget and quarterly forecast production
  • Maintaining internal process controls and acting as a super-user for the financial systems
  • Provide cover for the Credit Control function during busy / holiday periods
  • Support the Director of Finance on other projects and tasks as required

In order to develop this role fully, the post-holder will undertake training and private study, working towards the CIMA accountancy qualification

Knowledge & Skills required

  • Understanding of the fundamentals of business processes and accounting practice
  • A business or accountancy qualification at degree level or equivalent
  • Ability to analyse and present information in structured, easy to use formats
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Microsoft products, particularly financial and data presentation products
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated and business focused; a flexible team player with excellent communication skills. They will also be capable of studying at the level required for the CIMA qualification and willing to commit to several years study.
