DLF expands its amenity Team

DLF Seeds Ltd are the world’s largest grass seed breeder, 2016 saw the launch of market leading new fine fescue cultivars Humbolts chewings fescue and Nigella slender creeping red fescue. In 2017 we will be launching the No1 ranked chewings fescue Siskin, which combined with our market leading bent grass program and the recently launched ProNitro a unique nitrogen seed coating, we are seeing significant interest from the re-emerging golf market, particularly in the links golf sector. We are also seeing growth in the winter sports sector with our 4Turf tetraploid ryegrasses being selected for key international sporting events and Johnsons Premier pitch delivering fantastic results at many of the UK'S leading stadia. To support our continued business growth and deliver even higher levels of customer service we are expanding our professional amenity team.

We are delighted to welcome Ian Barnett to the team. Ian Joins DLF UK as Regional Amenity Technical Manager for the south west. Ian will be working closely with customers and distributors providing technical advice, back up and support in the field. Ian brings a wealth of experience as a Basis registered advisor and having worked on both Parkland and links courses (Mendip Spring Golf Club, Woodspring Golf and Country Club and Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club)

“I have been lucky enough to be taught by some outstanding Course Managers and worked alongside fellow Green Keepers who are now respected course and grounds mangers in their own right”. Following 10 years of Greenkeeping Ian has recently worked as Field Sales manager for a leading national amenity distributor covering Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. In that time gaining a great deal of experience on all sports playing surfaces, offering suggestions and advice to Course Mangers, head groundsman and Estate managers on their turf needs.

When not at work Ian has his hands full being a proud father of two sets of twins. Ian spends most of his time with the family, but in his occasional moments of spare time, he enjoys live music, comedy, and the occasional round of golf.
