Perennial Ryegrass

Lolium perenne

Perennial Ryegrass is a high yielding, high quality grass. Under a grazing management, the best varieties are very persistent provided they are adequately fertilised and managed properly. Breeding advances ensure that new varieties offer better quality, disease resistance and yield advantage than old. Perennial Ryegrass is compatible in mixtures with White Clover and thrives on most soil types but very wet or very dry conditions hinder its performance. Perennial Ryegrass is available in Early, Intermediate and Late heading types and as Diploid and Tetraploid.

  • Fast germination and establishment
  • Suitable for grazing, silage and hay production
  • Needs planned fertilisation and management
  • Widely adapted to UK conditions
  • Very palatable, digestible and nutritious
