Medicago lupulina

Black medick is mainly used for green manuring but can also be used as as a forage.

The crop is usually undersown in a spring cereal and is ploughed under in the late autumn or following spring.

Black medick is sensitive to acid soils but will otherwise thrive on a wide variety of soil types.
