Goldeneye is a giant type kale especially bred for the game cover market, selected for the optimum combination of height and leaf production.
It has a leafy top, strong stem, good winter hardiness and good field tolerance of disease, making it the ideal choice for game cover usage.
Goldeneye achieved a higher vigour score than Caledonian kale and better club root tolerance in a trial conducted at the Scottish Agricultural College in Aberdeen

“Goldeneye Kale has performed tremendously well for us over the past 2 years. The club root tolerance is a massive benefit to us. We particularly like this variety as it grows to a good height providing excellent cover and has a strong thick stem that can tolerate the beaters walking through it for all of our 35 – 40 days. We apply plenty of farmyard manure and give it the best start we can, as it is a vital cover for holding our pheasants and helps provide the 300 – 400 bird days”.
