However, there are sometimes instances when none of the above will fit the bill for one reason or another. In these cases, specialised mixtures to suit individual specific requirements can be arranged.

“Over the years I have tailored a specialist mixture to suit my specific requirements for my shoot. I’ve included millet, maize, sorghum and sunflowers. This bespoke mixture is everything a game bird requires, warmth, cover and a prolonged supply of feed. This year the crop is fantastic, it was drilled at a higher seed rate to try and overcome any competition from weeds. The winter feed generated by this mixture is going to be colossal.”
